My faith story: I was raised in the Methodist Church in Jacksonville,
FL. The
church has always been an important part of my life, but it wasn't until becoming
a mom that I learned unconditional love and truly accepted Jesus into my heart.
I've known
that God is my Heavenly Father and that Jesus is his Son who died for my sins
since I was a child in Sunday school but now, I know the importance
of Jesus' life and death, and I thank God for giving me this wonderful GIFT.
What brought me to UCUMC? I worked on staff at another Methodist church for
12 years. My daughter married and moved into the Oviedo area and began attending
UCUMC. My husband and I followed. I worked at University Carillon Preschool
for 8 years and then came on staff at the church about 4 years ago.
What I like most about my ministry at UCUMC: I love that I am happy to turn
into the driveway each work day; I love that I never know exactly what
will be waiting for my attention. I love the people I work with.
What is my greatest challenge: Trying to keep up with all the usher/greeter/reception/hospitality/new
member needs. Also, the stairs that I travel up and down many times each
day........I don't do elevators.
What's in my IPod: I’m probably the only staff member that doesn't have
one…but,
if I did, I listen mostly to Christian music and Josh Groban.
What I like to do on my day off: Go out to lunch, shop, read and
relax.
Three words to describe myself: Enthusiastic, friendly and silly
Family info: Married to my husband, Tom, for 36 years. Stephanie
Meier (daughter), Joe Meier (son-in-law), Charli Rose Meier and Luci Katherine
Meier (granddaughters who are lights of my life).
