Your faith story: I was taken to church as a child and asked Jesus into my heart at the age of 6. At 13 I rededicated my life and really grasped a hunger to grow in Christ. My parents became Christians shortly after. Along with my siblings we began a southern gospel singing group and traveled around ministering at different churches and events. This developed my love for music. God blessed me with a wonderful husband and 3 wonderful children. Our first son developed liver problems and the Lord chose to call him home before his first birthday. Spending many hours in the pediatric ward opened my eyes to how important those early years of a child are. I began to work at the childcare center at my church. I then taught music and went on to direct the center for 10 years. God has shepherded me so tenderly over the years. Although His love is never-changing, mine for Him has deepened. My goal each day is to glorify him and do my best to be “Jesus with skin” to people.
What brought me to UCUMC: : I was notified of an opening for Director of UCUPC by a Director’s group I belong to. I prayed earnestly wanting to make sure this move was directed by God. I asked to be caught in His flow and He paved the way to place me at this awesome preschool center.
What do I like most about my ministry here: I love the opportunity to partner with families in providing a good foundation for their little ones. I am also blessed to come to work each day and team up with a great group of Christian women.
What's my greatest challenge: Paperwork! Being licensed and accredited requires countless hours of documentation. I would love to be free to interact more with the children.
What's in my iPod: What’s an iPod…I hate technology.
What do I like most to do on my day off: I am an avid garage sale junkie…or, I like to call it treasure hunting! I also enjoy sports.
Three words I'd use to describe myself: Sensitive, merciful, committed
