My faith story: I came to know God as a teenager in a cow pasture (now Universal Studios) at the Jesus '78 music festival. A few years later I experienced the call of God on my life for ministry in the church.

What brought me to UCUMC: The Bishop, D.S., Pastor Joe, and the Spirit of God.

What I like most about my ministry here: Being a part of a great staff and group of lay folks who desire to build the kingdom and grow the church.

What's my greatest challenge: Finding balance in life.

What's in your iPod: don't have an iPod but on my "smart phone" (not sure why it's called that) I have the song, "I can Only Imagine" and the book "Made to Stick."

What do I like most to do on my day off: Playing an occasional round of golf or looking for golf balls on Twin River’s 16th fairway.

Family info: Married to Enid Akers Perez (24 years); two children - Juliana is a sophomore at University of South Florida and Brandon is a 9th grader at Hagerty High School.
