LAUNCH in EPIC - STUDENT Ministry

Hi my name is Jeninne Van Sickle.  I am the Program Assistant at EPIC. One of the most important parts of my job is finding volunteers to make our ministry a reality every week.  It takes about 20 - 25 volunteers each week to keep EPIC running at its finest.  We love this ministry, we love our students and we love our volunteers.  We ask for a six month commitment from any of our volunteers and every volunteer must fill out a leader application and be background checked. Below you can find the different opportunities to serve at EPIC.

SUNDAY EPIC

Café- Being part of the café team you may be: making smoothies, running the cash register, cooking food, cleaning the kitchen, wiping tables or handing out samples to students.  Shift 4:40 PM – 7 PM.

Activity ComplexActivity Complex volunteers will be playing pool or video games with students, assisting on rock wall that you will receive training on, engage in conversation with students who may be by themselves. You are that extra set of eyes and ears in one of our busiest areas.  Shift 4:40 PM – 7PM.

Usher – Ushers are responsible for being outside during drop off and pick up and whenever students are outside.  They make sure everyone has a wristband showing that they have registered. Ushers duties also include monitoring our front doors to make sure no students leave without permission. During the message an usher will stay in during the service to gently remind students not to talk or text during this part of the evening. Shift 4:40 PM – 8 PM.

Registration - The registration table is the first stop for all students.  You will be welcoming and signing in returning students and collecting information on new students.  Shift 4:40 PM –7 PM.

Front Line – Your job is to PRAY. Front line leader’s responsibilities are to walk the EPICenter silently praying for students and leaders as you feel led. To students you look like another Usher walking around keeping their mischief in check, but in reality, your objective is to connect with students and offer up silent prayers throughout the evening. Shift is 4:40 PM – 6 PM.

Production - Being a part of the production crew you’ll help run the service which includes operating videos, power point, lighting and sound. Shift 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Wednesday Freestyle*

Freestyle Meal coordinator and shopper
I am looking for volunteers to help coordinate meals and/or shopping for the cafe for Freestyle. We will now be offering a larger menu to students on the first Wednesday of the month. Shift flexible.

Additional Freestyle Help
We are also looking to expand our cafe help for the first Wednesday each month, which would include cooking and running the cash register. We would also like to add some ushers on Wednesdays to help control indoor and outdoor activities. Freestyle operates differently than Sundays but we are beginning to grow too big for just staff and small group leaders to oversee.  Shift 4:15 PM – 6: 15 PM.
*Freestyle does not take place during the summer from June to August.

Office Help
We are looking for someone who would commit to 2-3 hours per week of entering attendance and new students into our system.  In addition, occasionally helping with copying, stapling, cutting and folding as we prepare material for events.  Shift is flexible.
