Notes:
Romans 5:8—But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 15:13—Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Mark 4:10–12—When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding.’”
1 John 5:4–5—For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
Mattnew 13:44–46—The kingdom of heaven is like treasure
hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field… Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Luke 6:46–49—Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.
1 Corinthians 2:14—The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
John 16:13—But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
John 15:13—Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
